Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy is an English catwalk, lingerie and television model. She was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and she won series 11 in Strictly Come Dancing (2013). Since 2015 she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born on July 7th 1965, in Liverpool. Clancy is the fourth of four kids of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She was born in Woolton close to Liverpool and attended St Mary's Primary school and St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy was the founder of the girl group Genie Queen, who were directed by Andy McCluskey from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Clancy was one of thirteen finalist for the Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model's second season in the year 2006. The contest lasted for ten weeks for an opportunity to model. Clancy was paired with Lianna Fowler for the finale runway show, and was the runner-up. Clancy was included in Britain's Next Top Model and has since modelled for several publications and newspapers. Clancy posed in Arena magazine in the month of May 2007. He was featured on the cover with the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was selected to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 edition of the swimsuit. Clancy was chosen for her closeness to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, which made it appear as though she was wearing the England shirt. Clancy, who wore an England shirt in Umbro's campaign for sportswear in 2010, was also featured alongside other wives of footballers or girlfriends from the nations that won the World Cup. Clancy walked for Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011. In July of 2013, she was part London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign. It featured a fashion editorial by Absynth Photographic as well as a fashion movie produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on August's UK Esquire cover, photographed by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was also featured in the December 2013 LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar with Suki Wasserhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy made her debut on the cover of British Marie Claire's July 2014 issue as well as British Elle's March issue. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch her daughter, also known as Sophia Crouch, collaborated with Lipsy (a London-based fashion label) to launch the AW'19 collection. The collection for AW19 was unveiled by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi, in January of 2020.
