Susan Sarandon Bio

It was just after the 1968 Democratic convention and there was a casting call for a film that had several roles for the kind of young individuals who disrupted the convention. Two recent graduates from Catholic University in Washington DC, went to the auditions in New York for Joe (1970). Chris Sarandon, who had trained to become an actor, was turned by. His wife Susan was offered a significant role.That part was played by Susan Compton as the daughter of ad executive Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer lover, is killed in the film. Joe (Peter Boyle), a bigot who works in an assembly line next meets Joe (Sarandon). Janet gets involved with Dr. Frank n Furter, plays Janet in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Over 15 years after beginning her career Sarandon was finally active in a campaign to be cast in a memorable role, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), taking a flight at her own expense Rome to Los Angeles. She said "It was an incredible script... it did away with many myths and challenged America's notion of success". "When I arrived at the studio, I spent some time with Kevin Costner, kissed some women at the studio and got back on a plane".
