Abigale Le Miller bio

  Abigale Lee Mills (born on the 21st of September, 1965) was an American dance instructor, choreographer, and reality television host. Miller is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, which appeared on the reality series Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller admitted in June of 2016 to felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison and was released on March 27 of 2018. In April 2018 she was diagnosed with lymphoma. an aggressive form of cancer that left her unable to walk. She relies on a wheelchair for mobility. Miller was born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her mom taught her dance at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was just 14 years old when she was asked to choreograph and the role of coach on one of her mother’s dancing teams in competition. Miller was eventually able to take over the studio, renaming it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was also a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 due to the fact that Miller's reality show Dance Moms was a "complete misconception of our teachers and their students" and was detrimental to the profession.
